Here are some of the pictures from a fun and crazy Tuesday around Tokyo. The first pictures are from our trip to the elementary school. All students change their shoes when they get their into "school shoes." We got to do it, too! The students eat in their classroom - no cafeteria. We had an interesting lunch of cuttlefish. It looked worse than it tasted. The elementary school was beautifully decorated with mosaics and different types of Japanese art. We were escorted around the school by our 6th grade tour guides, who were sooo cute! Every different spot we came to had students reading about the room, and they would always stop by saying, "Finish. Any questions?" It was cute. We got to do caligraphy with the 5th grade students. The next set of pictures are from our bus tour. Some of the views you might want to click on the picture to make it bigger - the pictures do not serve the "real thing" justice!!! It was simply breathtaking. The final pictures (my favorites) are from karaoke with the principal and program director. It was sooooo much fun! I took a lot of videos of the evening (don't worry, my students...I'll show them to you when I get home!). All in all, it was an amazingly awesome day that I'm sure to remember for a long time! :-)
