What You've Been Waiting For...PICTURES!!!

Hello blog followers!

I'm typing this from Senshu University HS. The school day is almost over, and boy oh boy, what a day it was! Let's just say that I feel like I'm Taylor Swift here with the reception that we 6 Americans received when we walked through the door. The high school girls are definitely the center of attention from the boys here, and we keep hearing the word "cute" being thrown around. We were able to experience a lot today, including a tour of the school (it is SO modern and high tech), learning Japanese from Yoji (a teacher here), going to an art class (Kelsey got to model, and the students LOVED that, haha), having lunch, and participating in an English class where we got to be "interviewed" by the students. There is so much joy and excitement from the students here because of our presence. I certainly hope that when the Senshu students come to Selinsgrove they receive the same attention and excitement.

Soon will be our Welcome Ceremony Dinner. I have planned and rehearsed my first introduction speech in Japanese! So we'll see if the audience can understand anything I'm saying - haha! Here in Japan, each teacher in assigned to manage a club after school, so we'll be hanging around a while after school, and then getting dinner. This has been an excellent day of four more school days to come. I'm going to put as many pictures below as I can. Enjoy! I'm having a great time, and missing you all! Thank you for your comments! And Lynn, I'm glad you figured it out! :-) SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Fiedler! (woot woot!)

Love, Lydia
P.S. In case you were wondering what that glorious-looking first picture is, it's none other than codfish eggs mixed with lots of other yummy sticky stuff! Mmmmm, aren't you hungry??? :-)
